Police Department and Fire/EMS Services

Special Assessments District Hearings

August 21, 2017

TO: The residents and property owners of the Township of Gerrish and any other interested persons:

Please take notice that the Township Board has determined the costs to the operate the Gerrish Township Fire/Emergency Medical Service Department and the Gerrish Township Police Department for the Township fiscal year of 2018-2019 and has tentatively declared its intention to create Special Assessment Districts to fund the operation of these departments. The Special Assessment Districts shall include all real property in the Township.

Proposed budgets for these departments may be examined at the office of the Township Clerk from thirty days prior to these hearings until and including the date of the Public Hearings and further examined at the Public Hearings.

The Public Hearings on the estimated costs to operate these departments will be held at the Gerrish Township Municipal Center. 2997 E. Higgins Lake Drive, Roscommon, Mi. 48653. The Police Department hearing will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday August 21, 2017 and the Fire/EMS Services hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017.

At the hearings, the board will consider any written objections to any of the foregoing matters that might be filed with the Township Board at or prior to the time of the Hearings. All interested persons are invited to be present to submit comments concerning the proposed Special Assessment Districts.
