At its Regular Gerrish Township Board Meeting held on February 10, 2026, the Board passed Draft A.5-1 as presented, and same is now titled Short Term Rental Ordinance #50. A copy of A.5-1 as presented and passed can be seen below. Also, the Board passed a companion Resolution to state the number of permits available, dates for opening and closing of the application consideration, as well as the fees established and other dates of interest. That resolution also appears below. Further, a summary of the Ordinance is included below.
Any operational questions moving forward can be directed to the Gerrish Township Police Department and the Designated Township Official Mary Ellis. As of this writing, the paperwork required is being developed to meet the May 1, 2026, opening of the applications. The Township will respect a soft rollout of the Ordinance; enforcement for operating outside the confines of the Ordinance will begin January 1, 2027.
