In order to continue to provide the compost site for Gerrish Township residents, effective May 1, 2019, new rules and regulations were implemented. After review of the increasing cost of
the compost site, maintaining the site, volume of materials and unauthorized use, the following rules are in effect:

• Compost site is for servicing Gerrish Township Residents only.
• Gerrish Township Residents will be required to purchase a key fob for access and use of the compost site.
• Commercial Yard Waste Haulers will be required to purchase a yearly permit.
• The compost site will be gated and accessible by a purchased key fob.
• The compost site will be open May 1st to December 31st each year.
• Hours of operation are 7:00am to 10:00pm seven days a week.
• No road right of way & utility maintenance work materials are allowed in compost site.
• Brush and limbs no larger than 3” in diameter will be accepted.
• Leaves & yard waste only.
• No plastic bags, lumber or building materials allowed.
• Key Fobs are to be utilized for the Gerrish Township address provided at registration.
• Key fobs are non-transferable

• Commercial Yard Waste Hauler – Any person/business that charges a fee for hauling the following: branches or cut limbs, brush, lawn cuttings, hedge trimmings and leaves generated
  by clearing, maintenance and/or cleaning up of natural materials growing on a property.
• Gerrish Township Resident– An individual who owns, rents or leases residential property within Gerrish Township.
